Build Your Personal Audience

I Do This For My Culture
WELCOME
A little over a week left in August, and fall is just around the corner.
I’m excited because most sports will be in full swing, but fall weather is much needed after this gruesome east coast heat, here in Brooklyn.
In this issue, we wrap up Jay’s story and I talk about the importance of building your own audience as if you were a business.
Hope you enjoy!
SHORT STORY
The Legacy Continues

Jack’s arrest sent shockwaves through the city. The media was ablaze with headlines about the capture of the infamous Jay, and the public was divided. Some saw him as a criminal who had finally been brought to justice, while others viewed him as a hero who had stood up against corruption and greed.
In the days following his arrest, Jack was held in a high-security facility, awaiting trial. Despite the isolation and the grim reality of his situation, Jack remained resolute. He knew that the mission was bigger than himself, and he took solace in the fact that Marian and Tuck were still out there, carrying on the fight.
Marian and Tuck wasted no time in rallying support for Jack. They mobilized the network they had built, calling on the activists, community leaders, and ordinary citizens who had benefited from Jay’s actions. Protests erupted across the city, with people demanding Jack’s release and an end to the corruption that had led to his arrest.
Meanwhile, Little John continued to feed them information from the inside, ensuring they stayed one step ahead of their enemies. They knew they had to be careful, but they were determined to clear Jack’s name and continue their mission.
As the trial began, Marian took the lead in Jack’s defense. She used her legal expertise to expose the corruption and greed of the city’s elite, painting a vivid picture of the injustices that had driven Jack to become Jay. The courtroom was packed with supporters, and the media coverage was relentless.
During the trial, shocking revelations came to light. Evidence of Rick Masters’ and Simon Locksley’s criminal activities was presented, showing how they had exploited and harmed countless people. The public’s perception began to shift, and more people started to see Jay’s actions as a necessary stand against systemic corruption.
In a dramatic turn of events, a key witness came forward: a former associate of Locksley who had turned state’s witness in exchange for immunity. His testimony corroborated Jack’s claims and exposed the full extent of the criminal activities of the city’s elite.
As the trial drew to a close, the jury deliberated for hours, the fate of Jay hanging in the balance. Finally, the verdict was announced: Jack was found not guilty on all charges. The courtroom erupted in cheers, and Jack was embraced by Marian and Tuck.
The victory was bittersweet. Jack was free, but they knew their fight was far from over. The corruption that plagued the city was deeply entrenched, and the wealthy elite would not give up their power easily. But the trial had galvanized a movement, and the people of New York City were ready to take a stand.
With renewed determination, Jack, Marian, and Tuck continued their mission. They expanded their network, working with community leaders, activists, and ordinary citizens to expose corruption and fight for justice. Jay’s legacy grew, becoming a symbol of hope and resistance.
As they looked out over the city, they knew they had made a real difference. The fight was far from over, but they were ready for whatever challenges lay ahead. New York City had a new kind of hero, and Jay and his band of modern-day Merry Men were just getting started.

WHAT I’M READING

The first novel I ever read from start to finish is Rainbow Six by Tom Clancy. The way Tom Clancy wrote made me practically see the scenes in my head. I never knew reading could be so fun, and I’m grateful to my mother for gifting me the book. This book has turned into multiple best-selling games and other books too. Strongly recommend you grabbing a copy.

REFLECTIONS
Building Your Personal Audience

When I was younger, I loved reading blogs. It was a cool way to keep up with people and I learned a lot about my friends that I didn’t know before. This is why I’m a big fan of newsletters today. I believe they can be a great way to keep people up to date with what you’re doing in your life without having to jump on a call with every single person. It’s like social media, but getting deeper.
But whether it be social media, a newsletter, or an old-fashioned blog, I believe each of us should build up our own audience. Here are 3 reasons why:
Authority and Credibility: Cultivating a personal digital audience through platforms like newsletters, social media, or blogs allows you to establish yourself as an authority in your field (if you’re focusing on a specific topic). Consistently sharing valuable content helps build trust and credibility, making you a go-to source for information and insights in your niche.
Opportunities for Monetization: A dedicated audience can be a significant asset when it comes to monetization. Whether through selling products, offering services, or creating paid content (like online courses or exclusive newsletters), a loyal audience provides a direct pathway to generating income. Brands may also approach you for collaborations or sponsorships, further expanding your revenue streams.
Network Expansion and Influence: Having a personal digital audience allows you to connect with like-minded individuals, professionals, and potential collaborators worldwide. This network can lead to new opportunities, partnerships, and collaborations that may not have been possible otherwise. Additionally, as your influence grows, so does your ability to effect change, drive conversations, and inspire others within your industry or community.
Next week I’ll talk a little bit about understanding how to Know Your Audience so that you can nurture your relationship with it.
See you all next week!
